Meet the Mercury board

October 5, 2026

Following the election, six new Directors have joined the Board, alongside continuing Directors Devrim Celal and Rob Chapman. Together, they cover device makers, energy suppliers, and network operators across the UK, Europe, the US, and Australia. That mix is deliberate. Mercury only works if no single part of the market sets the terms.

Devrim Celal, Chief Marketing and Flexibility Officer, Kraken Technologies: Devrim leads marketing and flexibility at Kraken, the energy technology platform licensed to suppliers and utilities to run customers and flexible devices at scale. He has spent 20+ years working across software, infrastructure, and finance.

He brings significant experience in developing targeted strategies to increase overall market penetration

Øyvind Osjord, CEO, Easee AS: Øyvind leads Easee, the Norwegian charging and energy management company with more than 1.2 million chargers installed across more than 20 countries. Øyvind has a background in private equity and has spent the last 8 years in C-suite roles at listed and unlisted technology and engineering companies with operations across Europe.

Luke Jenner, Chief Assets and Digital Officer, Essential Energy: Luke oversees future networks, digital infrastructure and asset management at Essential Energy, which runs one of Australia's largest distribution networks, serving around 900,000 customers. He chairs the Energy Networks Association EV Working Group.

Chanel Parson, Director, Clean Energy and Demand Response, Southern California Edison: Chanel leads demand flexibility at Southern California Edison, spanning demand response, vehicle-to-grid and virtual power plants. Her portfolio includes over a billion dollars of programmes supporting California's 2045 carbon-neutrality target, working closely with OEMs, aggregators and utilities.

Ronnie Pettersson, VP of Product, FranklinWH Energy Storage: Ronnie leads product at FranklinWH and was a founding member of SunSpec. He oversees the company's OpenADR and IEEE 2030.5 implementation, and has worked on standards including IEEE 1547 and CA Rule 21 across a career that includes ABB and Power-One.

Alex Schoch, VP and Group Director, Flexibility and Electrification, Octopus Energy Group: Alex leads electrification and flexibility programmes across Octopus Energy Group. He spent over a decade at Tesla in senior automotive and energy roles, and has 15 years of experience scaling sustainable technology businesses.

Yonadav Yuval, Director of Products, Growth and Innovation, E.ON Next: Yonadav leads product, growth and innovation at E.ON Next, part of E.ON's UK business serving 5.6 million customers. He has driven the shift from traditional supply toward smart, low-carbon products and the integration of connected technologies at scale.
