Mercury presents at Europe’s main forum

October 1, 2025

We presented Mercury at the 2025 plenary of the EU Code of Conduct for Energy Smart Appliances, run by the European Commission's Director-General for Energy (DG ENER) and Joint Research Centre (JRC).

The Code of Conduct is Europe's main forum for agreeing how smart energy appliances share information with the energy system. Its plenary brings together manufacturers, standards bodies, researchers and Commission officials.

The Code started with appliances and energy management systems. Its next phase extends to EV chargers, solar inverters and batteries, the same devices Mercury certifies.

Our session sat alongside presentations from ETSI's SAREF initiative, the Commission's smart energy expert groups and the Trialog interoperability tester. Together they showed how common data models, testing and certification can fit together.

For us, the message was simple. Agreeing on shared data is an important step. Certifying how devices actually behave once connected is what turns that agreement into devices that work with any grid.
